1.How do you keep yourself motivated & your photography fresh?
I do a lot of flipping of magazines, blog stalking….new ones that I am addicted to are Sarah Anne, Anne Ruthmann! I am not afraid to try new stuff, even if it does not work I can scratch it off the list that I at least tried!

2.What (or who) has inspired, & continues to inspire, your work?
The members of the DWF! If you are not a member..you are missing out! Also Mark Eric with www.trashthedress.com his bridal sessions and engagements are amazing!

3.What do you say or do to put your clients at ease in front of the camera?
I do not say anything to them…I let my actions do the talking. I am really close to my clients so it makes it a lot easier for them in front of the camera

4. Tell us three things that are important to you in the day to day running of your business…
Skype…It helps me stay connected to clients and photographers around the world!
Email..Getting returned within 24hrs. You wouldn’t believe the comments I get about returning emails…I have stolen a lot of jobs from other photographers because of that!
Blogging…I try to do this everyday…if I don’t my clients are emailing with questions!!!

5.What was it that first drew you to take up photography?
My Step dad gave me his dads Yashica TL 35mm camera (ssssh I still use it today)! My first roll coming out under exposed and grainy…My first true love!!!

6. If you were planning on having a photo-shoot, who would you want to photograph your portrait & why?
This is a tough one…There are so many to choose from. You have Kelly Moore with the amazing x-process look, and then there is Don Mears with the amazing PJ look! Okay here it is…I cannot decide on just one..sorry you will just have to live with it! My first choice would be Millie Holloman! Not because her photography is amazing (but it is)! It is because of her laugh, it is very powerful and inviting! She really would be able to make me feel relaxed, because I hate that side of the lens! My other choice would be the Bebbs in Canada. Jenn and Steven Bebb are the coolest photographers out there, and plus they would make me look like a rockstar!

Jason is a great photographer, and a great friend. Thanks for the props!
It’s fun to watch him shoot because he is so passionate about capturing a great picture- and it’s even more fun to watch him work so intensely in post processing to make sure each picture is the best it can be.
Can’t wait to shoot with you again, man. Rock on!

I had the pleasure of working with Jason while planning a Trash the Dress Bash in Atlantic City last month. And actually meeting him in person was a million times better. I always look forward to checking his blog at the end of each weekend, because I know that there is a very good chance of finding fresh, original – and VERY COOL – work from each of his sessions and weddings. He’s been inspiring to me, a new photographer, both through his photos and his continuous support and friendship. I look forward to working on future projects with him, following his success…and of course all of the future good times are guaranteed as friend of JD’s! Glad to see you highlighted here, J!
