One of the early contributors to the Trash the Dress website, Denise Neufeld, has very kindly provided us with some of her recent creative images. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish Denise all the best with the opening of her new studio in a few days’ time!

How do you keep yourself motivated & your photography fresh?

I look at fashion magazines and visit photography forums for inspiration and motivation. There are tons of great images in fashion magazines that work great for Bride and Grooms as well.

What (or who) has inspired, & continues to inspire, your work?

I love the work on the Trash the Dress site and I look at that site everyday for inspiration. I am also very inspired by the work of John Michael Cooper, I love his work, it’s always fresh and exciting. I also love the work of Gino Lucadamo – he is a very talented photographer, I love his work.

How important is the post-processing stage in your final images?

Post processing is somewhat important, I like my images to look their best so I do some color saturation, sharpening and a little touch up on the faces if needed.

Show us your favorite image that you’ve shot so far this year & tell us what it is about this image that makes it special to you.

My favorite image so far this year is the Bride in the water. The Bride is so exotic looking, her reflection in the water is sweet, it’s just a beautiful image.

If you were planning on having a photo-shoot, who would you want to photograph your portrait & why?

Oh that’s a tough one, I hate having my picture taken, but I would love Mark Ridout to take my portrait, I love his photography, I think his personality would make it easy for me to relax enough to be comfortable with having my picture taken.
